Welder / Fabricator


Job description

The Welder/Fabricator performs any combination of the following tasks; lay outs, fits and welds fabricated, cast or forged components to assemble structural forms required to successfully carry out transport and lifting projects within the Mammoet organization.

  • Ensure established safety procedures are followed during welding and fabrication operations
  • Ensure forklift and other required equipment are in proper working order before operation
  • Ensure JSA’s are in place before any operations
  • Ensure overhead crane has daily inspection before operating

Shop Supervisor

Key Result Areas

  • Must be able and willing to operate basic tools such as mag drills, band saws, chop saws, etc
  • Hand torch, Track torch, Arc gouger, Forklift
  • Capable of reading blueprints and plan layouts
  • Must be able to layout steel to specified dimensions alomg with knowledge of physical properties of metal to determine weld shrinkage
  • Must have welding qualification in welding carbon steel in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW process
  • Capable of grinding to specification

Education & Experience

  • Secondary and Vocational Education
  • One to three years’ experience in welding and fabrication
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
  • Mammoet T&DP requirements, as specified

This will be a full-time position operating out of Mammoet head office in Guelph, Ontario.
