Mammoet is looking for task oriented and enthusiastic individual to join our SHE-Q team in Edmonton, AB. To ensure full compliance of commercial vehicle driver requirements in accordance with corresponding Provincial/ Federal / State Department of Transportation legislations, further ensuring all involved and required are in order and correct to complete the job according to all Mammoet SHE-Q, business and quality standards, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

• Coordinate and facilitate driver training and orientation programs for new drivers as well as training and periodic retraining of all drivers.
• Execute audits of documentation and logs according to both Mammoet and legislated standards.
• Conduct Filed audits of logbooks and load securement ensuring compliance with the SHEQ Program
• Maintain, update and file records relating to driver logs, trip inspections, maintenance records and other supporting documentation.
• Monitor all infrastructure activities and ensure related regulations, policies and procedural guidelines are followed.
• Analyze and report statistics related to transportation safety, driver abstract, violations, and compliance performance to Management.
• Liaise directly with employees and Management to maintain communication and provide coaching on transportation safety and compliance matters. Answer questions and counsel drivers on logs, hours of service, and DOT regulations.
• Regularly monitoring federal and provincial safety regulations to keep current with safety and compliance programs and to implement changes
• Monitor and maintain Carrier Profile for the company including any discrepancies that arise.
• Request and review driver abstracts for all branches; risk rank the abstracts and collaborate with Management, SHE-Q and HR on any corrective actions.
• Monitor and maintain subcontractors (lease operators) including pre-qualification.

Education & Experience

Job Qualifications

Education and Training
• Minimum 2 years of experience in transportation regulation and compliance or related experience in similar industries
• Working knowledge of hours of service, pre-trip inspection, weights/dimensions and cargo securement
• Well versed with the Traffic Safety Act and the Dangerous Goods Transportation and Handling Act, as well as the regulations made under these Acts
• Experience in maintaining driver files and log books
• Experience in providing commercial driver training
• Must have a valid driver’s licence with a safe driving record
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to prioritize workload
• Strong knowledge of Canadian & US trucking regulations including Driver Hours of Service, DOT, Vehicle Maintenance & Inspections, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, etc.
• All necessary safety tickets
• Knowledge of Permits is considered an asset
• Knowledge of cross-boarder customs is considered an asset

Languages
• Proficient in English, written and spoken

Experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation regulation and compliance or related experience in similar industries
• Experience in maintaining driver files and logbooks

• Proficient in MS Office
