Job description

  • Work Preparation : Configure SPMT's in all variations; check permits, transport drawings, route and vehicle documentation; check hydraulic, electrical and mechanical functions.
  • Operations : Ensrue the safe assemly and positioning of trailers in accordance with transport plans; check and secure the load and operate SPMT's in line with the prescribed guidelines, rules and procedures.
  • SHEQ : Follow all applicable internal and external safety regulations and report any potential safety risks, accidents and incidents to the designated person.
  • Communication : Liaise with various internal employees including the Planner, Supervisor and other Operators with regard to work preparation, operations and progress.
  • Maintenance : Carry out maintenance checks on all SPMT equipment and report any faults to the Supervisor.
  • Other : Assist with jacking/skidding of equipment; carry out any rigging duties; any other tasks as and when required.

Reports to

Operations Manager.

Purpose of the job

Your main responsibility will be to load, unload, assemble and operate SPMTs in accordance with internal and external guidelines in order to ensure safe operations.

Experience & Requirements

  • Proven knowledge and experience of conventional trailers and SPMT's.
  • To live within a commutable distance to the Teesside office.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel and work on short and long term projects throughout the UK and Europe.
