Project Controller


Job description

Our Project Control department is responsible for providing financial expertise on projects in order to steer projects and to provide accurate and timely insights of the financial position and performance of our projects in our region Europe & Russia. Due to an increasing number of new (regional) projects, we would like to expand our team in Schiedam with a Project Controller.

About the role
In this varied and challenging role, you are responsible for providing financial expertise on projects by means of contract- and risk management, financial planning, forecasting, controlling and reporting.
In this role, you will ensure that the projects are controlled in line with the applicable standards, procedures and legislation, in order to provide accurate and timely insights of the financial position performance and expectations of the project(s) to Project Management. As a Project Controller you are the linking pin between Finance and Operations, working closely together with the Project Manager and interacting with Contract Management, Tax Department, Accounts Payable, Account Receivable and Sales and Tendering.

Both international projects and projects in the Netherlands, revenue variance € 100k - € 15 mln. You are part of the Project Control department with 5 Project Controllers and 2 Administrators, reporting to the Manager Project Controlling.

Education & Experience

We are looking for candidates with a bachelor’s degree or higher in a financial discipline, with 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in an international project environment.

In order to fulfill this position successfully, the candidate must have the following competences and skills:
- Excellent analyzing skills
- Good social skills; teamplay attitude and able to build on relationships
- Proactive, hands-on mentality
- Good planning and organizing skills
- Accurate and able to focus on details
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus, advanced knowledge of Excel is a must
- Used to work in an (international) project environment
