Since the acquisition of former ALE businesses, the total number of entities increased significantly and consequently also the tax reporting to be managed. In order to cope with the increased complexity and to shorten communication lines as well as lead times, Mammoet is looking for a second Global Tax Controller with outstanding knowledge of general income tax concepts and extensive knowledge of tax accounting and reporting. The Global Tax Controllers are working together, in close cooperation with finance and tax departments at Holding and regional level as well as with local finance colleagues.
Manager Financial Control & Administration
A global tax controller within Mammoet is in charge of the monthly/quarterly review of the (forecasted) Effective Tax Rate (‘ETR’) reporting and the related tax accounting entries of group companies (worldwide) of the Mammoet Group as well as to provide training and constructive feedback when needed. Based on the information gathered the global tax controller prepares ETR slides to be included in the monthly/quarterly financial reports. If questions are raised by the Executive Board of Mammoet (‘EBM’) and/or representatives of our shareholder SHV, the global tax controller is responsible for answering these questions. At least two times a year a tax (hard) close is executed whereby all local entities report a tax reporting package. As a global tax controller, you are in charge of this process for a couple of regions and you are reviewing tax reporting packages and discuss issues and findings with regional management and/or local finance colleagues. When the situation requires so, you have the capacity to act decisively and use your relationship and personal persuasiveness to convince colleagues about the way forward.
Based on the information gathered the global tax controller prepares a report with the main findings to be issued to the EBM, SHV and KPMG (our auditor).
All together this is a challenging role, with a lot of room for you to grow.
The ideal candidate is in possession of a relevant master’s degree (e.g. accounting/finance/ economics/fiscal economics/tax law) and has gained at least 5 years of overall experience with accounting and/or tax and extensive knowledge of tax accounting and reporting within a multinational company. Your communication skills are on point and you have a strong personality. You enjoy working in a team and in a fast-paced environment. Furthermore, you are decisive and not scared of taking the lead. As Mammoet communicates in English, proficiency (verbal and written) is essential.
You will be working in an international, challenging and complex organization. Working at Mammoet is not just any other job. Colleagues share a deep commitment to the work they do and a desire to excel by building craftsmanship and dedicating their talents. They love the challenges of the industry and the equipment that comes with it. Across all disciplines, ages and cultures, one common theme is that everyone has a sense of belonging to something bigger than themselves; something that moves them.
